Didn't it rain

Rit.
Didn’t it rain, children
  Rained, oh my Lord
Didn’t it rain, didn’t it, surely
Didn’t, oh my Lord, didn’t it rain?

1.
Forty days forty nights when the rain kept fallin’,
The wicked climb the tree, and for help kept a callin’,

2.
Some climb the mountain, some climb the hill,
  Some started sailin’ an’ a rowin’ with a will;

3.
When you read in the Good Book you'll understand
Why Noah lived as a righteous man

4.
The Lord called Noah and gave him a plan
Said: "Give me an ark at my command"

5.
Then the Lord told Noah take 'em two by two
The ox and the fox an the kangaroo

6.
The wicked man if he don't repent
Leave 'em there until my judgment

7.
In the north, in the south
In the east, in the west

8.
Some groaning, some moaning,
  Some swimming, some sinking.
